Turnbuckles

Description

Turnbuckles are adjustable metal devices used to tension and adjust the length or tautness of ropes, cables, tie rods, and other tensioning systems. Composed of a metal frame with internal threads and two threaded end fittings—usually eye, hook, or jaw ends—turnbuckles enable precise adjustments by rotating the frame body. Commonly made from galvanized or stainless steel, turnbuckles are essential in structural, rigging, and load-securing applications where alignment and tension control are critical.

Most Common Applications

  • Lifting & Rigging: Used to adjust tension in wire rope slings and load-securing systems.
  • Marine & Offshore: Applied in sailboat rigging, mooring systems, and tensioned lifelines.
  • Construction & Infrastructure: Utilized in tensioning suspension cables, bracing systems, and support structures.
  • Transport & Logistics: Ideal for securing cargo, trailer tie-downs, and load distribution.
  • Event & Entertainment Rigging: Ensures precise tensioning of truss systems, stage supports, and overhead rigging.

Features

  • Available in eye, hook, and jaw end configurations
  • Manufactured from galvanized or stainless steel for corrosion resistance and strength
  • Provides accurate tension adjustment with simple rotation
  • Suitable for both temporary and permanent installations
  • Designed to meet load and safety requirements across various industries
