Swivel

Description

Swivels are mechanical connectors that allow rotation between two attached components without twisting or damaging the connecting line, such as wire rope, chain, or cable. Designed to prevent tangling and relieve torsional stress under load, swivels are commonly used in lifting, rigging, and towing applications. They are typically made from forged alloy steel or stainless steel and are available in eye-eye, eye-jaw, and jaw-jaw configurations to suit various system requirements.

Most Common Applications

  • Lifting & Rigging: Prevents rope or chain twisting in hoisting systems, slings, and crane operations.
  • Marine & Offshore: Used in anchor lines, mooring systems, and underwater cable assemblies to reduce torque and line twist.
  • Construction & Infrastructure: Maintains orientation of suspended loads during lifting or load positioning.
  • Industrial & Utility Maintenance: Applied in equipment rigging and cable tensioning to avoid wire rope distortion.
  • Towing & Transport: Helps maintain alignment and movement of tow lines and recovery chains.

Features

  • Manufactured from high-strength steel or stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance
  • Available in multiple configurations: eye-eye, eye-jaw, and jaw-jaw
  • Designed to rotate under load to relieve torsional strain on cables or chains
  • Suitable for both static and dynamic lifting applications
  • Engineered to meet industry safety and load capacity standards
